Hello lovely people! Today I am going to write about friendzone!

this post will get a little political and anyone who reads will definitely think of me as a sad, ugly girl who's mad at guys because she's been single for 20 years of her life.

Yes, I've been single for 20 years but that is not why I am writing this post.

Friendzone is not a thing. BOOM. Mind blown. Tell this to your bro friends that always coddled by male privilege: Friendzone is not a thing.

I've seen a lot of people my age complaining friendzone this, friendzone that, he is friendzoning me, she is friendzoning me, he/she is siblingzoning me.

I'll say this once and for all and I hope everyone out there will understand.

All those friend/sibling-zoning things are not real. In Indonesia, this term is used by girls and boys equally but who are we fooling, of course, the usage of this term started from all the ‘bros’ that accessed 9gag daily.

Because, let’s be real, that site is filled with sexist trash.

Friendzoning or siblingzoning are not real. Why? You are basically trampling someone's right to say no. I’ve talked about consent and saying no in this blog, yeah?

You have a crush on a girl so you act all nice and sweet and caring to her in hope that someday she will return your feelings. After months and months of pursuing her, the BIG day comes.

Boy: I like you, will you be my girlfriend?
Girl: Uh, I am sorry but I only see you as a friend.
The 'bros' of the boy: MAAAANNN THAT BITCH FRIENDZONED YOU.
Boy: THAT UNGRATEFUL BITCH FRIENDZONED ME!!!!111!!! I was so nice to her but she goes for the jerk

or the Indonesian version.

Boy: Gue suka sama lu, mau ga jadi pacar gue?
Girl: Duh, sorry banget gue cuma ngeliat lu sebagai kakak gue...
Boy: *post on social medias* Nyesek adalah ketika lu cuma diliat sebagai kakak...

Me: *muntah*

Guys. Guys. Guys. The girl is saying 'no' to your romantic feelings but she still wants to be your friend. She is not putting you into this sad, pathetic place called friendzone, she is saying "NO" while trying to coddle your fragile and dainty male ego : )

Person: No, thank you.

To everyone living on earth and still believes in friendzone:

Friendzone is not real. Friendzone is you trampling someone's right to say "NO".

To everyone who's been guilt-tripped for "friendzoning" someone:

Just because someone is being nice to you, YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO ENGAGE IN A ROMANTIC RELATIONSHIP WITH THAT PERSON. Honey, you don't owe anyone your heart.

I just hope more people can see it that way because, really, I am sick of all this "friendzone" and "siblingzone".

I am not only talking about guys, I’ve seen and heard some girls who use this term and even some of them went to the extent of trying to wreck someone’s relationship. Which is sad, really. Please don’t do that. He is not friendzoning/siblingzoning you.
